So you've decided to give Caffeine Injection a shot at quoting for your new website, what next?

Before we can begin to price up building your new website, we need to understand what you expect from it, and what pages and content you want on the site.

Sometimes, you won't have any idea of what you need; you just know what the site needs to do: Sell my stuff, or promote my business etc. That's fine. We've 20 years of experience getting businesses online, so the chances are we have already worked with a business like yours and already have a good idea of what you will need.

Or, you might have precise requirements and already know exactly what you need. Great! Tell us and let us build it for you.

I've no idea what I need, help!

As an absolute minimum, we always suggest a website needs four key elements:

1. About Us

People buy from people. They also want reasons to buy from you or use your services. So on your About page, we're going to talk bout you, your team and why you're the best people for the job, no matter if that job is building a wall, selling a widget or offering a service.

2. Contact Us

You could have the best website in the world, but if people don't know how to contact you, it's pointless. Your Contact page will have all the usual contact info, a map if based at a location(s), a contact form and so on.

3. Services/store

If you offer a service, your Services page will detail what you do. If you sell online, instead of a services page you'd have a store page.

4. Homepage

Your homepage is the front-end to your website. It contains snippets of the info on all the other main web pages on your site, all the important stuff someone might want to find all in one place.

That's it. As an absolute minimum, other than a few legal pages (like terms and privacy etc.) these are the pages you need. Although they don't need to be individual pages, often we can amalgamate all this into a single page, commonly called a One-page website.

If you're just starting out and need a website to get you going, but you're not sure what you need, cover these essential pages, and you have a great starter site.

To get something like this going for you, all we need is the content for these pages (words and pictures) and an idea of the look and feel you want. The best way to explain this to us is either to look through our template websites and tell us the ones you like, or send us links to sites you like the look of.

Once you have these ideas together, send them to us in an email. We can then get back to you, schedule a phone or video call, and start to get things moving for you.

I know what I need.

If you already know what you need, either precisely or "more or less", jot down your requirements in an email, giving as much detail as possible, and we can use this to start the process.

Maybe you want us to re-make an old website, so it's just a case of giving us the link to the old site and telling us about any changes you've got in mind.

Or maybe you want to replicate someone else's website? In which case, send us the link, and we'll take it from there.

It's good to talk.

Almost always the first thing to do is talk, so drop us an email, and we'll get back to you to schedule a phone or video chat.
