Google Websites Will Stop Working March 2024
For those who either felt they didn't need a big all-singing, all-dancing website, Google offered a free one. It was pretty basic, and you didn't get much of a say in the layout and design, but it was a website. It was sufficient if all you ever needed was a "place-holder" site where clients and customers could find basic info about your business.
Sadly, from the start of March 2024, Google is removing this free service. If you haven't already got an email that looks like the image above, you soon will.
But don't panic. I have a great option for you. Yes, OK, it's not going to be free. It'll cost £10 / €12 a month. But it'll be loads better than the Google version, you will have some say in how it looks, and crucially, it'll actually get listed on Google search results. Which ironically, given they actually supplied it, the Google version never quite managed to do it!
The website you will get will work similarly to the Google version. It'll be a single-page scrolling website, including your company details, logo, and some further info about what you do, etc. You can also add news items to it if you wish. I can make it look and feel like however you want, and it'll also automatically get added to Google.
I will get a demo site built in the next couple of weeks so everyone can get an idea as to what it'll look like, but in the meantime, anyone wanting to get on-board early and avoid the setup fee (which will be £150 / €180), get back to me now, and we'll get you sorted with zero up-front costs.
For those who want to wait a while and pay the set-up fee, more details will be coming in a few weeks.
